In a separate interview with dzBB, Tiangco stated, for now, they might prioritize the evacuation whereas authorities are investigating what precipitated the leak.
“Mapaalis muna ang residente and then mahinto yung leak. As soon as maalis ang residente, ichecheck ang ice plant kung nasara ang leak,” he stated.
(We want residents to go away after which we cease the leak. Once they flee, authorities will test if the leak has stopped.)
He stated the residents can be despatched to designated evacuation facilities whereas the BFP addresses the leak.
No one was damage within the incident, Tiangco added.
As of posting, BFP stated the chemical leak in Navotas has not but been stopped.
