John O’s remains placed in columbarium after less than 1-hour funeral rites

CEBU CITY – Former senator John Henry Osmeña’s remains have been placed in a columbarium on Wednesday (Feb. 3) some 26 hours after his demise.

According to his sister, Annie Osmeña-Aboitiz, Fr. John Jonah A. Orat, a detailed buddy of the previous senator, celebrated funeral Mass.

In attendance on the Skyline Garden Columbary in Cebu City have been Osmeña’s brother, Lito, his nephews, nieces, grandson Johny Boy and employees members from each Cebu and Toledo cities.

“We asked his friends and supporters, please omit flowers and just offer Masses or Mass cards,” Aboitiz mentioned in a press release.

The ceremony lasted solely less than an hour.

His solely son, John Gregory, was anticipated to be in Cebu quickly, Aboitiz mentioned.

The two chambers of Congress had already issued resolutions giving honor to Osmena and recognizing his contribution to the nation. Philippine flags on the Senate and House of Representatives and the cities of Cebu and Toledo have been flown at half-staff.
