MANILA, Philippines — Voter registration for the 2022 elections will now be performed on Saturdays, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Rowena Guanzon introduced Wednesday.
In a tweet, Guanzon famous that the Saturday schedule will enable these working from Monday to Friday to register for the upcoming nationwide polls.
“YES Saturday registration @COMELEC will start in Feb. Guys, this was your request those turning 18 and those working M-F. So no excuses, register na!” she stated.

Comelec earlier stated it was mulling the addition of weekends to the voter registration schedule with a purpose to increase the variety of voter purposes.
As of Monday, solely about 1.3 million voter registrations have been acquired by the ballot physique, in response to Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez.
