CEBU CITY –– Music-loving Cebuanos could have to tone down a bit.
The Cebu City Council has determined to amend its Anti-Noise Ordinance and prohibit the usage of karaoke machines and sound systems in residential areas from Mondays to Saturdays, whereas town stays beneath a state of public well being emergency.
City Councilor Raymond Alvin Garcia, the writer of the amendatory ordinance, stated there’s a want to implement some modifications since many college students are taking on-line lessons whereas some workers are working from dwelling.
“For the preservation of public peace and order and to provide a conducive learning and working atmosphere for the residents of the City of Cebu, it is imperative that loud noises be curbed,” he stated.

Garcia appealed to Cebuanos to cooperate with town authorities and to modify to the “new normal.”
Violators might be requested to pay fines ranging from P1,000 to P5,000 or face no more than six months in jail, relying on the discretion of the courtroom.
Col. Josefino Ligan, director of the Cebu City Police Office, and the Department of Education Cebu City Division, lauded the transfer of town authorities so workers and college students wouldn’t be disturbed whereas doing their respective dwelling duties.
“The public needs to be considerate of the students and employees who are working under the new normal,” Ligan stated.
